The first time I met Grace and Jeff was on their big day. Grace greeted me with a huge smile and the most genuine hug. I knew it was going to be an amazing day. Every second of this 6 hour wedding seriously melted my heart. There was so much love between the two families coming together as one. Many happy tears were shed and the speeches were incredible. I will always remember this wedding, how I felt leaving, my heart was so full!

Our love story began even before we knew it! We are both classical musicians (Jeff: violin, Grace: cello) The first concert we ever played together was a benefit weekend in Carnegie Hall in 2011. There were only two rehearsals and one concert, and the orchestra was so big we didn’t actually meet! (We realized much later that we had both played that concert when talking about when we had each last played Beethoven’s 9th Symphony! So nerdy, but cute?) 

We finally met in 2012, backstage at the New World Center in Miami Beach, where we were both Fellows in the New World Symphony (@nwsymphony). We lived and worked together for three years, and at first were just friends who played a ton of concerts together, with lots of chamber music, going on tours together, and loving life on the beach :) Finally, a few chance encounters led us to spending one on one time for the first time (we ran into each other having lunch by ourselves and spent 3 hours talking) and a few days of staying up until 5 am watching YouTube videos of our favorite conductors (again so nerdy). We quickly fell deeply in love, buoyed by incredible groups of friends and the love of our supportive families. After New World, we faced long distances apart, moving several times (5 cities in 5 years?!), starting and ending jobs, the ups and downs of auditions, competitions and freelancing. We got engaged in Dallas in June 2019 and now we live in Jeff’s Canadian hometown of Winnipeg and both play in the Winnipeg Symphony! (It’s very cold for Grace, a born and raised SoCal girl) Through it all, our love is the constant, and we are beyond excited for a lifetime of adventures to come!!
