Juan and Kimmy's love story started 5 years ago when Juan saw a picture of Kimmy on a mutual friends Facebook. At the time, Kimmy was in a different relationship but little did they know they were destined for each other. Kimmy eventually became single again. This is when her childhood friend decided to set her up with one of her co workers, Juan. Kimmy was hesitant at first, she's not one to go on blind dates, but she couldn't resist how cute Juan looked in his Facebook photo. They had a great first date and the rest is history.
The proposal: Juan came up with the perfect plan to propose to Kimmy in front of the castle at Disneyland. He arranged for a friends husband to meet them there to snap the photo of the proposal.
At first, they started falling behind with the schedule, Kimmy insisted on buying a Minnie Mouse sweatshirt. Juan was starting to get impatient, but he didn't want Kimmy to get suspicious. Finally, they were headed towards the castle and Juan's nerves were starting to kick in like he was going to kiss her for the first time. As soon as they reached the magical spot, Juan turned Kimmy around and got down on one Knee and asked her to marry him. Disneyland will forever be the place that Kimmy said Yes!
They're love for each other was so apparent and infectious. Part of the reason why I love being a photographer is because you get to meet so many different people, and each couple or family you meet leaves an imprint. I loved being a part of this beautifully styled engagement shoot. Every detail was G-O-R-G-E-O-U-S and curated by the wonderfully talented Mika from Enchanted Garden Events. From the 9 ft flower wall made by Crafty Makize, to the delicious pastries and cookies hand crafted by Rebecca of Sweet Bees Bakeshop, to the beautiful vintage China provided by Via Laroche.
The theme was a "Glamorous picnic" and every detail was just that. Even the bride, Kimmy showed off her diy skills by making the picnic table out of 3 wood frames and 2 shelves from Hobby Lobby. And the pillows. I. Love. Pillows! I was in pillow heaven!
Enjoy this beautiful session!
